Table of Contents - Not Working

K

Ken Loomis

I have a document with outline numbers. I want to include levels 1
and 2 in a TOC. In Print Layout I assign each level 1 and 2
paragraph a level 1 or 2 in Indents and Spacing.

I put my cursor where I want the toc. I click Insert Index and
Tables, I select levels 1 and 2, I click OK and I get an error
message. "No Table of Contects Entries" I tried unclicking Insert
form Styles and various other things.

I would appreciate any help because this is driving me insane. And I
need to submit this doc two hours ago.

Although your TOC should be picking up outline levels as well as styles
(this box is checked by default), TOCs are much simpler if you use Word's
built-in heading styles.
