Table of Contents

1. I would like my table of contents to have different font sizes for
different levels, but when I do this, the automatic page numbering down the
right side of course jumps around in size to. Can I have the page numbers
stay the same size while the table entries are different sizes depending on
level?

2. A couple months ago I posted a problem with having the Introduction page
number "I" (that's small Roman i) coming up as a 1 in the Table of Contents.
I don't think I got a response, or if I did, I missed it.

Can anyone help with these issues?

[For anyone who is watching but isn't familiar with this feature, we're
talking about the automated (field-based) table of contents that you can
compile in a few seconds when you have use heading styles in your document.]

Martha,

I'm in Word 2001, but I don't think X (if that's what you're using) is
different.

Question 1: On the final toc before you print or whatever, select the page
number by dragging rightwards from the end of the last word on the line in
which you want to change the page-number font size. With the page number now
selected, key Command-[ for every point by which you want to reduce the
font. Repeat for other toc entries.

Question 2: Go to
http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search?q=group:*mac.office.word
and key in your name in the "author" field to see any responses that might
be there. You're in there forever!
