Table properties from SQL table not propagated to Access table

P

Peter

We have upsized a legacy Access application (2 Access databases, a front end
and a back end) to SQL Server (MSDE version). We have upgraded the back end
to SQL, but are maintaining the Access front-end, re-linking the tables to
the new SQL Server tables via ODBC.

When the tables were created in SQL Server using the upsize wizard, some
Access column properties were copied across to the SQL Server column Extended
Properties, such as default value and description (to MS_Description).
However when these SQL Server tables are linked back into the Access
front-end, these properties are lost. Some application errors are occurring
where forms are not getting populated with the defaults, causing problems
when the Null values are getting read.

Is there any way to get the default values back into the ODBC linked tables?

Thanks Guys & Girls!!
