Table Repeating Header Rows

A

Annamarie

Hi All,

I have a doc - it's not so big - only 15 pages or so. (It will grow over the
course of today.) It contains 6 different tables - the last four I created
by copying the second one.

The second one has the header row repeat for each new page that contains the
table.

The third one refuses to do the "repeat header row" even though the check
mark is on in Table Properties. If turned it off and on several times. This
is clearly a bug? Do I have to recreate my tables? Or can I manipulate Word
into behaving?

Appreciate the help.
Thanks
Annamarie

It's possible that in copying the tables, one of them picked up some
corruption. Try this with the problem table(s):

Select all of the table (and only the table).

Go to Table>Convert>Convert Table To Text and then immediately, without
moving the cursor, Table>Convert>Convert Text to Table.

If the table now functions properly, that was why.

In the future, instead of copying and pasting tables (which is not a good
practice for this reason), use Word's AutoCorrect function. I'm assuming
here that the reason you're copying and pasting is because you want to
replicate a particular table structure or format. If that's the case, try
this:

Create a new table and format it however you like.

Select the table. Go to Tools>AutoCorrect. You'll see two boxes: the
Replace box will be empty but the With box will have content (your formatted
table).

In the Replace box type a shortcut that you will remember (I might use tbl).
Click Add to add it to the AutoCorrect list and then click Ok.

From now on, when you type tbl and a space, your formatted table will be
inserted automagically.
