Table splits across pages

I have two identical tables, separated by two hard returns
and the sentence "Table 1". The 2nd table splits up across
two pages leaving a huge space at the end (in the middle
of the 2nd table) for no reason. There is some code (
a "small box") that I can't delete that seems to be the
culprit... When I delete all the hard returns so
that "Table 1" is nested between the two tables, the 2nd
table is fine. I'd like at least one space for visual
reasons. How do I stop my table from splitting like
this? The "split rows" has nothing to do with this
because the row is only one character high.

Thanks!

Instead of using empty paragraphs, add some Space Before to your Table 1
caption. Then check all the paragraphs in the table that's breaking to see
whether they are formatted as "Keep with next," which could be causing the
table to break prematurely.
