Tables in Word

Each time I enter "(c)" into a Table, it converts to a copyright symbol (c in
a circle). How can I change the default?

Delete the entry from autocorrect . (Tools > autocorrect)

As Graham says, you can remove the AutoCorrect entry. I haven't done this
because I find it convenient when I *do* want to insert a copyright symbol.
What you can do instead is just press Ctrl+Z immediately to Undo the
AutoCorrect action.
