Tabs and Spelling and Grammer Status have a white box over them

I have this problem with multiple users. It seems to happen at random
times for no reason in particular. Then the next day it is gone.

The tabs icon in the top left of the screen and all the hanging indents
seem to have a white box over them. You can still use the tabs and
change them but, it makes it almost impossible to align everything the
way you want it.

Also the Spelling and Grammer Status icon down the bottom of Word gets
a white box over it as well. You can just see the little pen writing on
the book but the rest is covered.

I dont know what to do. It is not so much a major problem, just more of
a major nuisance!

Please help!

running Word 97, so far only occurs on WinXP machines (havent had
problem on 2K...yet)

This sounds like a display issue. You might try dialing down your hardware
acceleration. If this solves the problem, you need to update your video
driver.

Thanks. I never thought of this. I havent had a chance to test it out
yet either (hence the reason why it has taken me so long to reply)
because nobody has had the problem again for a while.

Whenever I get to try it out, I will let you know if it worked
