Tabs Error - Duplicate Records

I have a rather larger form which I split into tab'ed windows to make it much
easier to navigate and understand. I linked each page using a unique record
source (ReportID) and origianl set this as my primary key because I can not
allow duplicates. I later added a primary key as using a text field (both
numbers and letters) for a primary key was a bad idea.

Anyway, each time I create a new record I complete the top half then go to
the first tab. When I complete that and try to move to the next tab I get
the error:

"The changes you requested to the table were not successful because they
would create duplicate values in the index, primary key, or relationship.
Change the data in teh field or fields that contain duplicate data, remove
the index, or redefine the index to permit duplicate entries and try again."

I can allow duplicates. Any ideas???

You can't have duplicate values in a Primary Key. So what is your primary
key now and how is it being populated?
