Is there any way to copy one set of tabs? I notice that the tab marker in
the top rule shows changes in tabs when I scroll through the document, but I
find it very difficult to match those tabs. The "Paint" option does not
seem to carry the tabs with it. I usually end up erasing all the tabs and
resetting all the tabs, which sometimes causes havoc.

Select a paragraph with the tabs you want and Ctrl+Shift+C. Then use
Ctrl+Shift+V to paste the formatting onto any other paragraph. Note,
however, that *all* paragraph formatting will be copied/pasted. The more
efficient way to do this is to define a style with the desired tab stops,
then apply it as needed.

Would the Format Painter do the same job or is there an advantage to using
the CTRL + SHIFT method??

Unless you double-click the Format Painter, it's good for only one
application. When you copy a format using Ctrl+Shift+C, it remains available
until you copy a different format. You can do other tasks in Word and later
paste the same format as often as you like.

Thank you.
