Taking long time to save file to sub folder

When I go to save microsoft products such as Excel, Power Point or Word to
sub folders it takes up to 5 minutes just to get to the folder I want to save
it to.

Do you happen to have "disconnected" drives listed in Windows Explorer?
If so, r-click on each one and select "Disconnect".
