TAPI help for Access

Jim

My question is in two-parts. I hope someone can shed some light on
these.....

(1) In Access 2000 (in Win2K), I am trying to add a button in a form that,
when clicked, dials a phone number in an adjacent text box field. I have
managed to get this working by using a couple of routines that I've modified
from MSDN. However, the TAPI request makes the call via Phone Dialler (MS
default phone dialler), rather than Phone Lite, which is the application I
want to dial through. I'd simply rather not have two dialling clients open.
I've tried amending certain (what would seem the obvious ones) registry
settings in the hope that this might redirect the API call, but am clearly
doing something fundamentally wrong.

(2) Once I get (1) working - which is far more important than this
question - it would be great if I could link an incoming call through to
Access, which would then retrieve a record based on the incoming number.

I guess you know what I'm getting at - some crude kind of CRM package for my
small business (can't afford to buy any software, I'm afraid).

I'm pretty confident that I can get there, just need a hint in the right
direction.

Many thanks in advance
Jim

I've just found microsoft.public.win32.programmer.tapi. Will have a look in
here in the meantime.

Any help would still be appreciated though.

Thanks
Jim
