Is there a system in Project 2007 for tasks to be sent for approval to
a project manager before they are published to the server?

If you are using My Tasks interface, when resources submit tasks, the
same goes to the default 'status manager' on the task. each
assignment can have its own status manager, most of the time it's the
Project Manager. So, to answer your question, the status manager has
the ability to preview the effect of the tasks submission and then
approve/reject. Upon that, the task update is published to the server
and the project plan is updated.

Although the question is confusing but I can guess that what you are asking
for is one of the two listed below cases
1) You are talking about the tasks being published by the project manager,
ok, by default it is going to pm approval after submitting and before
publishing

2) if you are asking about new tasks created by resources then the same
thing, it will go for PM approval after submitting and before publishing

If your question is different that these two cases please clarify

For number 2, how new created tasks from resources can be sent to PM
for approval before they are published.

Thank you for your answer. I'm still not sure what is the best way for
a resource to create a new task? Is that possible in PWA? If yes, once
the task is submitted I'm not sure what 'status manager' is? Can you
please explain me exactly how can I get to the 'status manager'?
