Task Assignment Owner

I have a client that wants to use task assignment owners. Because resources
are shared across projects, they are unable to use Default Assignment owners.
They need the project Team Leads to update the tasks.

We found that when you assign a Assignment Owner to a task with multiple
resources on it it sends a duplicate task for each resource to the assignment
owner. This make fuctionial sense, but it is causing push back from the Team
Leads.

Since this client is using Percent Complete they need the ability for a
assignment owner (Team Lead) to update a percent complete for a task once
without having to repeat it for each resource.

Does anyone have a workaround for this?

There is not workaround for this other than assigning only one resource per
task. Each assignment is its own entity and must be updated individually.
