Task Bar refuses to resize

I am currently using XP Pro and my task bar has doubled in size and refuses
to allow me to resize it. It is not locked. Any suggestions?

You mean your Windows taskbar at the bottom of your screen?

You can right click it to unlock it. Then grab the top part of it and
move as needed.

Yes, the Windows task bar. It is NOT locked. It will NOT resize to a single
space by dragging. It can be dragged bigger though.
Any other suggestions?

You have something "wrapped" onto the second line and that prevents the
system from squeezing all the way down.

So how do I "unwrap" it?

generally grabbing the little handle and dragging it all the way to the
left will get it all on one line.

Nope, that won't do it either...it's a real mystery to me. cause it's
unlocked but can't be made smaller...only bigger.

Hi Jack,

Some things you might want to check:

Are all apps closed when you're trying to adjust the height?

Have you changed the screen resolution property?

Have you restarted the PC to see if that clears it?

Check to see if 'High Contrast' is in play in the Windows control panel Accessibility Display settings.

What size are the icons set for if you right click on the desktop and choose appearance (Windows XP?) Sometimes a setting there for
Icons or Icon spacing can 'grow the taskba, or if you have an additional Toolbar in the same line as the TaskBar (right click
taskbar=>Toolbars)
