Task Bars Appear A Day Late & Monday Automatically a Non-Working D

N

Nic2024

My project starts on Sunday, February 1st. One resource has equivalent
"Working Time" as the default I set - Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. I've verified
this through the "Working Time" tab of the resource, however the program is
taking Sat, Sun and Mon as "non-working" days.

Another resource has the default working time Monday-Friday (9am-5pm) but
then I scheduled "non-default working time" to be Sunday & Saturday (9am-5pm)
so this one resource is working 7 days a week. However, the program is
taking Sun as a non-working day.

No matter the resource or the task, if someone is scheduled for a task
Tuesday-Friday, the task bar appears as though it's beginning on Wednesday
and ending on Friday. However, when you hover over the task bar, it clearly
states the task takes place Tuesday-Friday.

I'm hoping these two problems are connected and can be fixed with one
adjustment. The above problems happen no matter what. This is the first
time I've opened the software application and I've tried starting from
scratch several times.

How do you see that the program is taking those days as non-working days?

What time do the activities start?

What is the bar rounding setting (Format/Layout)?

Hi Nic2024 ,

What version of Project are you using and have you installed the latest SP?

Hi Dave,

Thank you for your response. I see the program is taking these days as
non-working because when I slide the task bars to start on these days, a
window pops up stating that I've moved the task bar on a non-working day and
then lists the specific day.

All the tasks have a duration of full days, which I set to be 9am-5pm so all
activities should be starting at 9am.

The bars are rectangular in the Gantt Format.

Hi Mike,

Thank you for your response. I'm using Project 2003 and have the latest SP
installed.

Then the underlying calendar is wrong.

Does this still happen if you remove resources from your tasks?

Do you have a task calendar applied?

Hi,

I got the file. It's about "Round Task Bars to whole days".
Project 2007's graphic always considers a day to start at 8:00 whatever
option you take, so when a task starts at 9:00 and the option is to round
bars to whole days the wole day simply isn't drawn.

Didn't know about this weakness (bug?): just discovered it.

This is Project 2003 though... does that matter?

Also, is there a way for me to fix this so that the task bar will appear
across Monday-Friday when the task is scheduled Monday-Friday?

Also, any idea as to why it's counting working days as non-working days?

Thanks again for your time and help!
