Task don't strat as soon as it completed and Split Task

K

(1) Refer the Task 4 and Task 5 from the attachment.
Both are constrained to start ASAP, still, task 5 will not start a
soon as task 4 is completed.

Here is my question.
What constrain is forcing the task 5 to have this behaviour ?
and where do I find that constraint details,
meaning what is the view/table name ?

(2) Refer the task 9. The task is split into two pieces.
What is the view/table name responsible to provide task spli
information ?

Thanks
K

Is there perhaps and Actual Start Date holding it there? I would insert (or
create a table containing) %Complete, %WorkComplete, Actual Start. Since the
task is in the future the values should be 0,0 and NA (no date)
respectively. Although there is no resource assigned, you might still have
work assigned to the task.

Hello KS,

In addition to Jim's suggestion looking for actuals, I'd check the
calendar. Is 10/7 & 10/8 working time? As you don't appear to have
any resources assigned to task 5, it cannot be a resource calendar
and as no indicator appears for a task calendar, it could possibly
be non-working time in the project calendar.

To your question about the split task, it may have been split by
resource leveling (although I don't see any resources assigned
currently.) You can remove the split by clicking and dragging the
right side of the task in the Gantt chart view and pushing back
together with the left side.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

There is no specific view or table to show the split information.
If you have resources assigned you could see the work stop during
the split period in either the Resource Usage or Task Usage view,
but as you don't appear to have resources assigned, I doubt you'll
see anything of interest in either view.
