Task Enterprise Field Totals Do Not Roll Up

B

Brian Hanks

The Task Enterprise Field Totals on are not rolling up to the summary task.
I have to click on Tools->Options->Calculation and click the "Calculate Now"
button to calculate tasks. This seems to be occurring only a few machines in
our organization. Mine appears to be one of them.

Is there any settings that have to be set to make the summary task fields
automatically calculate whenever the sub-task fields are updated?

We are seeing the same issue. Calculation is set to automatic and some, not
all fields will calculate automatically. Our formula uses Enterprise Number
40 * Enterprise Costs 8. The formula is stored in Enterprise Cost 7.
Enterprise Costs 7 calculates the task field just fine but does not roll up
to the summary tasks on machines currently that have SP1 applied to Project
Professional 2003. It rolls up fine on all non SP1 machines though a
developer we work with has reported that he has SP1 clients that are rolling
up fine. This is a real problem as other external system uses this data so
if my PM or PM assistant saves and forgets to F9 then we have reports that
are also wrong.

LArry,

I am also running SP1 and have the same kind of problem. Rolling up does
not work unless you say "calculate now".
Is there a way to automate this ?

It seems that this must be a product feature…or in my business we would call
it a Bug. I am working with our IT people to get this reported to the
correct channels inside Microsoft. It seems that this channel cold do that
for us but I have yet to see it work that way.

Gary,

We have worked with Microsoft Tech Support and they have provided a hot fix
for this problem. The hot fix is descirbed in KB article 887801 per our tech
support contact. We have installed the patch and things are now working
quite well.
