task for resource deleted - no project manager can't update actuals

i have a urgent problem,

one of the project managers has deletet a task for one
specific resource - by just deleting the resoures name...
but the resource had booked some actuals on that task for
the running period already... now the project manager
can't update this task cause the updates contain actuals
for a task that does not consit for the resource anymore...

is there a way past that???

The approach we recommend is that you do not delete tasks from the project
after the project has been baselined. In fact, I would strongly encourage
you NOT to delete tasks with actuals booked against them. A better approach
is to set the Remaining Work for the task to 0 hours, to add a Note to the
task documenting the fact that you have cancelled the task, and then
republish the project using Collaborate - Publish - All Information. Hope
this helps.

thanks for your help... and you are right - project
actually does not allow for a usefull way to cancell a
task - it is funny but there seem to baonly fuzzy
workarounds...

well - anyways - as you recommend just not deleting a task
does not work anymore - since the project manager alreday
deleted the resource from the task...

i have to find a way now how to make project work again...
