Task names in embedded projects

I have 54 individual projects set up on a standard Gantt chart with standard
task names e.g. "Design" or "Drafting".

These 54 projects have been rolled up into 1 master project by inserting
them into a master file. Also all resources are shared out of a master
resource file.

I now want to use the resource usage icon to see what projects people are
working on but the problem is that the tasks still have generic names. Is it
possible to link the task names to the project properties name so that in the
resource usage view you would see "Project name" "Design"?

In the Usage View, insert the column Project: it should show the original
project name.

WARNING: You have 54 links between a master project and sub-projects and 54
links between sub-projects and Resource Pool project. Anytime anyone moves,
renames or over-writes any project you roll the file corruption dice.

If all you want to do is report on Resource Usage strongly consider creating
a weekly snapshot of your projects by creating a new master with Project,
Insert (but Link option OFF).

This copies all data and consolidates resource info. Its a lot of inserting
so record a macro of you doing it once then run the macro each week to
create a new consolidation. This avoids all corruption problems and enables
reporting. You would also need some extra code to copy project name from
the Project Summary Task down to all assignments.
