Task Page Doesn't Update Like Project Page

Eric

I am just wondering if it takes extra time for the projet
to propagate to the tasks pages, becasuse i recently
published a project then changed the percent completion
then re-published and the tasks do not seem to change? I
there some reason why this happens?

And again Thanks again for all the help, this is a really
useful newsgroup, i'm learning a lot from here then the
documentation. This project is my first ever in a real
company i'm in 3rd year university, they asked me to do
the entire installation by myself for a company of 30 or
so people and this newsgroup has helped me out a lot :)

Although the PM can update the task status in Project
(like the old days before Project Server), that will not
flow back to the Tasks page by design.

The resource must input the task status on the Tasks page
in either % or hours depending on how you are setup and
then update this information to the PM. The PM then
accepts the update on the Updates page, which will then
open the project and update the tasks there.

Hope this helps - it is a new way of doing things.

Eric --

If you, the project manager, are manually updating the % Complete for tasks
within Microsoft Project, then you must specifically republish the project
using Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments. In the Republish
Assignments dialog box, you will need to select the "Overwrite actual work
entered by resources" option, and it wouldn't be a bad idea to deselect the
"Notify all affected resources via e-mail" option as well. Taking this
action will "push" your new set of actuals onto the Tasks page for each of
your resources. Hope this helps.
