Task Pane remain open pls

I wish for the Task Pane to remain open at all times after each document is
loaded or until i choose to close it within a document (not all documents).

Currently the Task Pane loads at startup but after i open a documents, it
disappears - annoying.

How can i do this please?
Running Word 2002 on XP.
