task updates with no approval required

I'm using Project Server 2007 and Project Pro 2007. I have a project
schedule that I want to assign tasks to resources. I want some of the tasks
to not require approval when the resource updates the task status. So if I
assign task A to resources A, when resource A updates task A in My Tasks in
PWA, and submits the task update, no approval is required....the update just
gets posted to the project.

How can/should I do this?

Hi Jesse,

The easiest (and probably only way) to manage this is to
1. Create a task enterprise custom field with the values Yes/No, calling
the field something like "approval required"
2. Create a rule under task updates | Request types, and choose "where
updated field matches a published field in the project" and match your
"approval required" field equals "No"
3. Set this rule to auto-approve.

Let us know how you get on.
