Tasks on PWA

We are using PS07 server and PWA. How do get PWA to NOT display task that
have been 100% completed on the MyTask Grid. We need to only show the task
for the current period that are not completed.

Any ideas on how to accomplish this ??

Make sure the checkbox is enabled in My Tasks view to "Only show my current
tasks" and then define what your current task list should be under Server
Settings>Task Settings and Display

I only have these options
Current tasks are those tasks which:

have started but not yet finished,
or have been rejected and not yet resubmitted
or are not older than or further in the future more than __ days

where " __" indicates the number of days and this does not make completed
task not being displayed.. so there in net 20 days worth of tasks being
displayed ..I may need to tweak this to only have a leaner day count !!

Ben, the funky part is - why display a task that is completed. Its done, so
dont show it .. I dont care if its within the past 10 days or not !!

Are you saying that completed assignments are still showing up even with the
option set to only show current tasks? I would not expect them to show up
anymore once they have been submitted, approved and the project
re-published. In 2003, I believe it worked that way.

Are you sure these tasks in question have gone through the full approval
cycle and are no longer marked with a red exclamation point stating that
they need to be submitted?

yep, bang on Jonathan !! :)-

Full cycle approval and right down into timesheets have been completed, so
why show up on mytasks grid !!

It maybe pulling the +10/10D for grid popluation.. which is funky for
PS07/PWA !

Yes Jonathan , it is true for 2007 and false for 2003

As I see "current tasks" displays
1) all tasks (complete and incomplete) with given "before-after-current
day" time period (as set in Server settings)
2) all incomplete in the past

I agree this is not the way it should work. Might want to open a ticket on
this.

Vadim Gerya is absolutely correct about what constitutes a Current Task on
the My Tasks page in PWA 2007. This IS the way the software works, and
opening a ticket with Microsoft will not change anything. Unfortunately, a
completed task remains on the user's My Tasks page for 10 days after the
task is completed (or the number of days specfied by the Project Server
administrator for the definition of a Current task), and then the Current
Tasks option will hide the completed task.

I know this is totally goofy, and is not even close to how Project Server
2003 worked, but it is how Project Server 2007 works (to my chagrin). Hope
this helps.

Thanks to all who responded !!

yes, opening a ticket will not help in anyway. Our only hope is that MS
Development Team for PS07/PWA read these forums and lear about our pain
points , that we the user(s) are facing. Maybe they will eventually roll out
a SP or maybe a new version MS08 !!

Hey MSFT, change the world or go home ... !!

Is it possible to create a new view for My Tasks that filters out everything
that is 100% complete?

I have been following your discussen - and I agree - it is useless as
it is. probably by design but complete useless.
I was wondering however.
Does the task dissapear in "my tasks" 10 days after I have sompleted
my work (my assignment) wether or not the task is completed - or is it
when everybody assignet to the task has completes all work???

Your task assignment disappears 10 days after YOU complete YOUR work on the
task. Hope this helps.
