TC Field Code not registering

I've noticed a bug that applies with Word 2002 SP2.

Upon creating the following field code, {TC "List of Figure Entry #1" \f F}
There should be an entry in the List of Figures. BUT (here's the bug) if you
place that line of code in a TEXT BOX, it will not register.

I put that single line right before my LOF, created it, works fine.
I cut that line, paste into a text box and it says "Error! No Table of
Figures entries found".

As soon as I finish posting this, I'll upgrade to SP3 (partially to avoid
users telling me to upgrade) to see if that fixes it.... If it doesn't, boy
oh boy does M$ have a bug in their product! Get to work boys!

In all versions of Word, *nothing* in text boxes *ever* appears in a TOC or
TOF. The reason has to do with text boxes being in the drawing layer, not in
the text layer.

If you need something in a floating box and it has to appear in a TOC, you
have to use a frame. You can go into the Format Text Box dialog, on the Text
Box tab, and click the Convert to Frame button.

Installing SP3 is a good idea, but it won't make any difference for this
issue.

Just a follow-up: Upgrading to SP3 did not help.
However, the other post did.

HEY MICROSOFT -- YOU SHOULD MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO LOAD TABLE OF CONTENTS
ENTRIES FROM TEXT BOXES. IT WOULD BE VERY USEFUL. THAT WAY YOU COULD
INSERT->REFERENCE->CAPTION FOR EVERYTHING, AND THEY WILL SHOW IN A LIST OF
FIGURES INSTEAD OF GENERATING AN ERROR.

Do you think they're listening? We'll see if they release an update to
fix this.
That's right... they're not listening. Too bad.
