Team Assignement Pool

What's a Team Assignement Pool in in Project server 2007? How does it works
?

TAP uses the team lookup table to populate the list of teams. Each resource
can belong to one TAP. PM's can assign tasks to TAP's. After publishing the
project then all project team members should show up from the team lead as
available resources to whom the team assignment can be reassigned.

Alternately each team member has the option to go into the Self Assignment
page from the My Tasks\Actions\Self Assign Team Task where one of these team
members may inherit or “self assign†the team assignment to themselves.
