Team Leads Editing Task Start Date and Duration

Can team leads EDIT a task's start date and/or duration? If so, how is
this done and where can more information be found about the subject. I
am aware that team leads and members can create a task, reject a task,
and in some cases delegate a task, its the edit that I cannot find any
information on.

No, Team Leads cannot edit the Start date or Finish date or Duration of a
task, unless they have Microsoft Project. In that case, they would edit
those values in the Microsoft Project plan rather than in Project Web
Access. Hope this helps.

Can you restrict the particular fields a person can update within the
MS Project client through the security roles? That is, can you give
team leads the ability to change %complete, actual start/finish, est.
start/finish, and NOTHING ELSE??

Thanks,

If you want your team leads to enter progress in the actual Microsoft
Project plan, as opposed to doing it in Project Web Access, then the answer
is "yes." You would need to supply each team lead with their own copy of
Microsoft Project Professional and you would need to set up the Team Leads
group permissions to allow them to open and save projects.

If you want to restrict them to only being able to edit certain fields in
the Microsoft Project plan, then the answer is no. If a user can open and
save a project plan, they can edit nearly anything in the plan. Hope this
helps.
