Teams and Team Builder in MS Project server 2007

Evgeni Katsarski

Dear Sirs,
There is a "Team Details" section when you select and choose "Edit Resource"
option located in the "Resource Center". I would like to assign the selected
person to some team. Unfortunately the list with teams is empty and I can't
assign any team to the selected person. My question is how to populate the
list with desire teams structure and assign the right one to the person. As
far as I see the only possible way is to build a team to some project, but
how cross projects teams can be setup? Moreover in the "Resource Center"
there is a view "Resources by Team" but I can't see any difference when is
selected.
Just for your information, the SP2 has been applied recently.

Kind regards,
Evgeni

Hello Dale,
thanks a lot for the prompt response. Please clarify the first step of the
solution. How to do this:
Create a Team Names lookup table in Project Web Access, build the code mask,
populate the Lookup Table with names of your organization's teams, and then
save it.

Thanks and best regards,
Evgeni

Evgeni:

In Project Web Access, go to Server Settings > Enterprise Data and
select Enterprise Custom Field Definition. In the lower section of
the page you will see a section called Lookup Table for Custom
Fields. In that list, you will see Team Name,

Select Team Name, define the Code Mask (the default of Sequence =
Characters: Length = Any; and Separator = (period) is fine.

In the table, you will define Levels and Values

For example

1 Web Developers
1 Web Designers
1 Testing

etc.

Save when done. This will populate the Team Name list that you will
assign your resources to.

Hope this helped,

Evgeni --

Log into PWA with administrator permissions, and then click Server
Settings - Enterprise Custom Field Definition. In the Lookup Tables for
Custom Fields section of the page, click the New Lookup Table button. Give
the new Lookup Table a name like Team Names, then you can build the Code
Mask and specify the names of the teams in your organization. Hope this
helps.
