template causing pains....

my docs created on the basis of the normal.dot template
seems to make my files corrupt so they instantly cause word
xp to use lots of cpu, this also affects other docs I open.
Is there a way to restore or repair this template?

Any chance you are running Norton Anti-Virus with the Office Plug-In
enabled? If so, disable it.
