Okay, thanks.
I am going to guess that the logo is an EMF or WMF and that it had been
recolored in 2003. The recoloring mapped to a color scheme color. When you
open in 2007, the color schemes don't map the same way, so I'm betting that
white has been replaced with blue in the color scheme. And so it's showing
up in the EMF/WMF logo.
This is complete guesswork, mind you. But offhand, I can't think of anything
else that would cause a color shift like that.
Unfortunately, the recoloring tool in PPT is gone. I would either use the
magic wand on the blue and see if that removes it well enough to live with
it. Otherwise, I'd ungroup the logo and delete the background square or fill
it with white.
Ungroup is available on right-click. Magic Transparency Wand is on Picture
Tools Format | Recolor (on the left) | Set Transparent Color.
