Template "Cool Blue" Does not download

Steve Hardiman

The "Cool Blue" PowerPoint Template does not download. It's perfect for my
presentation. Please advise me if there is something I'm not doing (other
templates download fine), or when the problem is corrected. Thanks!

Thanks, JoAnn. Good point. Alas, I DO have PowerPoint 2007.

JoAnn,

On the main template page, there is a Download button. When I click it, a
small status box pops up, indicating the download status. It seems to
complete instantly (i.e., there's no intermediate "thermometer bar" progress,
as there is with most other template downloads). The status box then closes
automatically, and I am taken to a page that says the template failed to
download automatically, along with instructions for performing a manual
download, followed by a "[Manually] Download Now" button. When I click that
button, I am taken to a page that says the template failed to download or
template not found, I'm not sure which. Regardless, the download fails and I
wasn't sure if it was me or the site. Other templates download automatically
on the first try, automatically launching PowerPoint upon completion.

I did get a reply in another thread that someone else had the same problem.
I've tried a couple of ways to reach Microsoft about this in case the file is
just not specified correctly, making it an easy fix, as opposed to some
possible file corruption issue or non-existent file.

Thanks for your help and advice.

I don't have access to PPT2007 right now. Let me try later this afternoon
and see if I have the same results.

The template you are referring to is a Community Submitted template. It's
possible the contributor removed it or it was removed by Microsoft due to
some type of terms violation in the agreement terms. IOW, there's not a lot
we (or even Microsoft) can do.

It does appear many of the templates the user submitted are unavailable so
something appears to be wrong.

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email cannot be acknowledged.
