template downloads have wrong file extension

Paul

why do the template downloads from the office home page have an ECF extension
and can not be opened from the add in folder in the programs folder? The
only ones that I can open are the first 4 that are stored in the most recent
used file.

What templates are you downloading from where? .ecf extensions indicate they are Exchange related, not Office.

I am downloading from the Office Home Page, Templates (from the top, right
center)
All Template,Forms,(etc), then I choose one that I want, click download and
a few seconds later I can find it in Excel, Word or where ever it is related
to, but after I close the page then try to open the form, Template, from
Microsoft Office program it has a .acf extension and will not open.
