Template for Events, Threads, etc.?

I'm having some trouble figuring out how best to document and
represent an application with a variety of classes, threads, events,
event handlers, etc. Can someone point me to a good Visio template
(or even some kind of convention) for drawing this?

A UML sequence diagram would be a good start.
