template help

I have a template that I need to use for a multiple page
document using Word and I need the template to be the
background on everypage, but can't get this to work
correctly. How do I do this, when I insert pages, they
have blank backgrounds

Put the background in a header or footer in a textbox without borders. Set
the textbox to be behind text.
