Template Normal

When I close a Word document this comes up: This file is
in use by another application or user.
C\Windows\Proviles\...\Normal.dot
Then when I hit o.k. it says do you want to save changes
to Normal template? I have to click no or I can't close
Word.
What is going on? Thanks!

search for normal.dot adn delete when Word is closed then
try again

please me know

We don't ever recommend deleting Normal.dot; this is throwing the baby out
with the bath water (losing possibly many years of customizations). Renaming
solves some problems and allows for the possibility of (a) renaming back to
Normal.dot if the renaming didn't help and (b) salvaging customizations
using the Organizer.
