PLEASE write your question in the body of the post and NOT just the subject

Hey Gordon,
Who decides what makes a good post ? What gives anyone the right to
tell someone what is the proper way to post in a public forum that is
visited by people all over the world seeking help not criticisms of the way
they post. Helping someone with their question is more important so help and
not be so critical of the post.

Control the things you can and Don't Worry about the things you can't

Ooooh! get off your high horse. Netiquette was introduced for a reason, much
like grammar and spelling. There are also two very valid reasons for writing
the question in the BODY of the post and not just the subject. (I'm assuming
that is the post you are on about because you didn't quote it, so I don't
know - pot kettle and black are the words that spring to mind). They are: 1)
quite often a question written in the subject line only gets truncated so
the full question is never seen, and 2) if the question is written only in
the subject line there is NOTHING to quote when that message is replied to.

If you'd BOTHERED to get past your blinkers, then you would have seen that I
*HAD* offered a solution.
As I said Netiquette was evolved for very good reasons, and if you are SO
ARROGANT as to ignore it, then all I can say to you is that in your case MVP
stands for "Most Vain Plonker"

I'm not going to bother to read any more of your posts - you obviously
aren't worth it.

*PLONK*

Do you remember when you were a new computer user? I fear not.

Why do you bother yourself with us? Surely we are below your perceived level...

If you're so worried about Netiquette, Gordon...then go play with the
big boys. Realize that these support groups are for ALL users...not
just those who worry about "the rules."

Many folks struggle JUST to find their way here in order to ask for
help. They're new to technology and/or the Internet...and they don't
ALL speak fluent/proper English, nor should they be expected to do so.

All they are is frustrated with something related to technology and
they are desperate for help to get rolling again.

Having some elitist goofball come back at them to chastise their
efforts because they did not ask their questions properly is just
plain ignorant.

If you want to help them...EXPLAIN the issue to them to help them
LEARN...don't blast them for not understanding what they don't know.

Oh dear. yet ANOTHER "MVP"

Maybe the fact that you're seeing a pattern here...will give you a
clue as to what REAL "proper netiquette" is all about!

It's about help and support...not slapping people upside the head with
rules and verbal abuse.
