template with vertical and horizontal lines

I'm looking for a ms/word template with vertical & horizontal lines filling
the page so I can edit and insert data. Something like an excel spreadsheet
but excel is too complicated for me to use for alphanumeric data insertion
and editing.

Click on Table | Insert | Table, choose the number of rows and columns you
want (you can add or delete rows and columns later if you want), and click on
OK.

Is there any reason you can't just insert a table in a blank document?
