Termination mode of inserted avi clips

Hello,

I have several short .avi clips I am placing in a Powerpoint (2002, SP3)
presentation. I'd like them to play to the end and then stop on the last
frame. Problem is the vid player absolutely insists on resetting to the
first image of the movie, even when "loop" isn't selected. I just want one
run through to the end, leaving the final image on the clip displayed as a
still image before going to the next slide.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me in this regard.
Sincerely,
John

So a movie really does not play in PPT, but on an invisible layer on top of
the presetation. When you insert a movie, it grabs the first frame and adds
it to the presentation as a placeholder. When the movie starts, it plays
directly on top of the placeholder (which is an image of the first frame of
the movie). When the movie is done, the playback layer disappears and you
see the placeholder (which is the first frame of the movie)....

If you want to get creative you can capture the last frame of the movie,
insert it onto the slide, size it to match the placeholder and while the
movie is playing have the last frame image animate on (you won't see it,
because the movie plays on top of all PPT content). When the movie is done
and the playback layer is gone, your last frame image will be visible.

Troy,
Now that's news I can use! Many thanks for your very helpful input. I will
give that a try.
Sincerely,
John
