Text block jumps

In trying to create an organizational chart in Visio 2007 (Windows XP),
double clicking in a shape creates a text box into which we type some text.
Then when we click outside the shape to accept the text, the lines of text
jump up to the top of the rectangular shape, even though we've specified
"middle" as the alignment under the Format ->Text ->Text Block menu options.
The margins are set to 0. We just want the lines of text to be centered both
horizontally and vertically inside the rectangular shapes! What are we doing
wrong?

Take a look at: menu bar > Organization Chart > Options. Select the Fields
tab.
Block 1 should show Name and Title selected. Everything you're typing is
going into the Name field, and so, gets pushed to the top of the shape.
Deselect the Title, and the text ought to center. Note, this is a global
change for all Org Chart shapes in your drawing.

Org chart shapes have somewhat restricted formating, intended for use with
shape data.

What if I actually do have two lines to enter into the box? Select two boxes
in Organization Chart > Options > Fields? When I create my org charts, I am
listing both name and title, and like the original poster, when I enter those
two lines into a shape and release the shape, the text moves up. What I've
been doing is just going back and entering a break before and after the text,
which seems to work, but seems silly to have to do. Doubles the work, pretty
much.

Ok, so, after I posted my question, I went to Visio and entered two lines of
text, which seemed to work. How does this work for just one line of text,
instead?
