Text box background

I have Word 2003. I want to make a textbox where the words are in white on
a black backgroun. How can I do this? The only thing I'm finding on
background changes the whole page.

You need to R-click on the text box border and select "Format text box".
You are hovering in the right place when the cursor turns into a "4
headed arrow"

THANK YOU! I've used that to remove (or change) the border, but I didn't
think to use it for the background inside the box.
