Text box character limits?

A user seems to think that the default number of
characters in a text box is 3000? Is that correct and is
there a way to up it?

I don't know of any limit to the number of characters in a text box, but a
text box, like any other drawing object, cannot exceed one page, so its
capacity would depend on the paper size, margins, font size, spacing, etc.
