text box in numbered list

I am trying to insert a text box inside the text of a
numbered list item (to hold an illustration to a process
step). Everytime I insert the text just below the first
line of the list item, it wraps the other lines of text
around the box with a very large border.

Is there a way to decrease the border around the text box
that will allow for tighter wrapping?

any help is greatly appreciated. at the end of my rope,
so to speak.

You can set the "Distance from text" in the Format Text Box dialog. On the
Layout tab, click the Advanced... button, then select the Text Wrapping tab
of the Advanced Layout dialog.
