Text box - tight by default

How do I set my preferences so that when I create a text box, it is "tight"
by default instead of in front of the text behind it? Thanks!

In recent versions of Word you can specify the default wrapping for
inserted/pasted pictures. I'm not sure whether this applies to AutoShapes
such as text boxes, but you can certainly, after changing the wrapping,
right-click and choose Set AutoShape Defaults.
