I am teing to center text in a text box, but can not find
where the "center text" for text box's is. I have a some
square and I put my name in it but would like my name to
be in the center

You can center it horizontally using Ctrl+E, but Word's text boxes (unlike
Publisher's) do not have a provision for vertical centering. A good
workaround is to insert a single (borderless) table cell in the text box and
use the vertical alignment command in the table.
