Text boxes will not maintain their position

Please someone help me - I've created a 20 page MS Word 2003 that includes
some text boxes and frustratingly the text boxes will not maintain their
position on the page. They keep defaulting to the edge of the page.

Please can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong????

The document is probably damaged, internally.

If you
- Save as XML
- close
- Open the XML file
- Save as a Word *.doc file (to a different name, of course, than the
original)
- close. Open again

Are the text boxes more stable?
