Text, clipart, help menu is now invisible

Can anybody help me figure out why the text I type, inserted clipart,
and my help menu contents are invisible while creating a document
using Word X on my iBook. If you highlight the invisible text which I
know I've typed on a document (but is not visible) and select a font
color it will temporarily be displayed in that color until I type
another letter then it all disappears or becomes invisible again. I
have checked the setting numerous times and removed MS Office and
reinstalled it but it is no better. If I insert clipart the small
boxes around the clipart are visible but the image itself cannot be
seen. When I open the help menu the topic at the top and the topic
arrows are visible but none of the text contents. Everything in
Entourage, Excell, and Powerpoint work fine.

Hi Duranne,

I'm a little confused by your post but here are a couple things that might
help.

Regarding the clip art problem: It sounds like you need to turn off the
preference to Show: Image Placeholders. You'll find it at Preferences>
View. And while you're there, check the other View Preferences to be sure
nothing is activated that might explain your other problems. I really think
you must have set something or other that explains the invisible text.

Also, you don't mention what your OS version is nor if you've fully updated
Office to 10.1.5. You should do so and then repair disk permissions:

For OS 10.2.x or 10.3:
Go to Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities. Open up Disk Utility. Select
your hard disk, then click the First Aid tab. Click the button to "Repair
Disk Permissions".

For OS 10.1.5:
Download the Repair Privileges utility, free from Apple, and run it:

Post back if you're still having problems.
