I'm linking to a relational database called DP4 (you probably won't have
heard of it) via ODBC. A text column in one of the tables has a length of 255
characters. This column appears incorrectly in Access - the first 200
characters appear OK but the last 55 are overwritten with the first 55
characters 'recycled'.
This doesn't seem to be a bug in the ODBC driver as MS Query in Excel
retrieves the column correctly, so I assume it is an Access 'feature'. I have
worked around it by using a spreadsheet with a MS Query in it and linking to
that, but it's a bit cumbersome.
Has anyone seen anything like this before? Is there a better workaround or a
setting that will enable me to avoid the problem altogether?
