Text drop shadows don't follow text animations. Is this right???

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I have two OSX computers that do the same thing with text drop shadows. When I animate the text, the shadow is always showing before the text animates to its spot.

Am I missing something??
Please help.
