text separator in Project 2000

Is there a way to force a space as the text separator in the 'predecessors'
column rather than the comma? Since the task numbers and commas are jammed
together, the text won't wrap.

Not possible in Project.

Hi Wayne S,

See the following Knowledge Base article:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/70089

Note this will affect *all* programs and *all* information in Project, not
just the predecessor and successors column. I haven't tried this "fix" so I
can't comment on its effect.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Go to the Control Panel-Regional Settings and change the List Separator
character to a space. This will allow the predecessor column to wrap but I
wouldn't leave it this way as you might get unexpected results elsewhere...

Hi Wayne,

From English (US) installation of XP Professional with SP2:

See Control Panel > "Regional and Language Options" click the Customize...
button to open the Customize Regional Options dialog box. The List
separator option is on the Numbers tab.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Julie - I had already checked the KB document out - there is no way that I
can find under XP/SP1 to m ake the change

Thank you. changed it and got the desired result in the 'predecessor' column,
however it totally screwed up the 'resource' column by removing all first
names and inserting a ';' between the surviving last names in place of the
',' that had been there. Without the first names and separating blank, that
column no longer wraps either.
I guess I better leave well enough alone and just live with the non-wrapping
predecessor column.

Hi Wayne,

You're welcome and thanks for the feedback.

I was afraid changing the list separator would have some pretty far reaching
consequences. Glad to know that you arrived at an answer -- not a perfect
one, but an answer never-the-less.
