Text shadow in PowerPoint

Click on the "showbox" on the bottom menu bar
Click on the downward pointing arrow on the right hand side of the resulting
menu
Change "Shadow Color" setting

(this works for PPT 2002)

Pdek's advice works well if you want to change the text shadow for some
isolated text on a slide.

If you want more control, you'll have to change the Shadow color in the
Color Schemes.

Schemes and the second link explains how to apply them.
