Text Style not on toolbar

I created a text style which I want to apply to some text.
There doesn't seem to be a Test Style icon on my formatting toolbar and I
can't figure out how to add it.
I'm also surprised there doesn't seem to be a way of applying a text style
from the format menu itself.

Which version of Publisher are you using?

Ed Bennett asked what version of Publisher I am usiing. The answer is
Microsoft Publisher 2000 SR-1.

The Text Style drop-down menu appears on the far left of the Formatting
toolbar, to the left of the Font drop-down.
If you have a small Publisher window, or a small resolution, then your menu
may be cropped. Look for a chevron (>>) at the end of a toolbar.
